Ski Season Opening in Bad Hofgastein 2026
Get ready for snow, mountains, and some seriously great music! On December 11 and 12, 2026, the Schlossalmbahn valley station in Bad Hofgastein will once again transform into a massive open-air stage. At Ö3 Gastein Sounds, the Ski Opening meets festival vibes—with Pizzera & Jaus, folkshilfe, Paul Kalkbrenner, and KARL performing live on stage.
From dialect and Austropop to indie and Berlin techno, there’s something for everyone to heat up those cold winter evenings in no time. And after the concert? The fun continues in a relaxed atmosphere: warm up, unwind, enjoy a good meal, and savor winter to the fullest. First, beats in the snow, then your getaway at Sendlhofers—that’s what the perfect start to the winter season sounds like.

What you can look forward to
Have breakfast from 7.30 am to 11.30 am in LUKE’S Wohnzimmer (Our tip: twice is better. Start the day with a coffee or a small breakfast and when you’re really awake, treat yourself to a second big breakfast).

With the Premium Package, even more winter fun awaits you: a full day of skiing on Gastein’s slopes with a day ski pass included, followed by four relaxing hours at the Alpentherme Gastein. Our Nature Spa is your winter retreat: While families relax together in the Family Spa, unwind in the adults-only area, enjoy soothing treatments, or float through the snow-covered mountain landscape in the 32 °C thermal water pool.
Winter in the Gastein Valley means pure variety: skiing and snowboarding on over 200 kilometers of slopes, winter hiking through snow-covered valleys, tobogganing, or relaxing at the thermal spa. A winter full of possibilities—for both action and relaxation.
With a pool table, shuffleboard and a slide that leads directly into the playroom, LUKE’S Wohnzimmer also offers plenty for young and old in summer.
5 times a week, Christian will take you on his varied mountain tours. In addition to classic hikes, you can go snowshoeing and on guided torchlight hikes in the evening.
It’s not just your skis that are in good hands in our ski workshop. While enjoying a cool drink, you can prepare your skis for the next day with our tools.
On your skis, get set, go! From Sendlhofer’s you can easily take the ski bus to the surrounding ski areas of Ski amadé. One of the many cross-country ski trails starts right outside the door, and of course our house is the perfect starting point for countless hikes.
Whether it’s morning yoga or rowing at the gym—we offer a wide variety of sports activities to help you strengthen your muscles or really stretch out!
