THE SENDLHOFER ‘MUST SEES’ IN THE GASTEINER VALLEY
In the Gasteiner valley you will find countless highlights for your summer holiday in the Salzburger Land. If you’re looking for adventure, relaxation in untouched nature or if you’re looking to be inspired by the highest mountain in Austria- Here you can find our top 3 Must See’s in the Gasteiner valley.
THE STUBNERKOGEL
On the peak of the Stubnerkogel, the impressive platform “Glocknerblick” awaits. From this platform you enjoy a view of the highest mountain in Austria, the ‘Grossglockner’ .
To walk across the 140m high bridge, you need strong nerves and a head for heights. The slight swaying of the bridge as well as the view of the 28m abyss will test your nerves.
THE WATERFALL IN BAD GASTEIN
Bad Gastein, also known as ‘Monte Carlo of the Alps’, is where poets, thinkers, painters, musicians and intellectuals met. The historic city centre is marked by this time until this day and still draws in lots of creatives. The charming Belle Epoque place is ever evolving and is not only interesting for its history. Explore the old town, gaze at the waterfall and enjoy the beautiful view of the Gasteiner valley. A symbiosis of impressions which you could not experience anywhere else.
Winter hiking
One of our favourite hikes with a beautiful panorama is in the Kötschach Valley. Enjoy the beautiful panorama and stop at Gasthof Gamskar for a hot drink and a delicious treat. Perfect for a leisurely day when you want to enjoy the winter landscape.
For Nature Lovers
One of our favourite hikes in the Gasteiner valley leads from the Graukogel into the Koetschtal. Past the Palfnersee and the Windschursee, the Redsee offers the perfect place for a cool dip into the fresh cold water after a hike. Careful, there’s still a relatively steep path down to the Koetschtal from there.
